Q: If the whole team played a game of HORSE, who would win?
A: I’d say probably Joe [Burton], Eric [Moreland], or Roberto [Nelson] top three, but that’s if I’m not playing, you know. I’d give it to Joe because not too many people can do the hook shot like Joe.
Q: If you and head coach Craig Robinson played a game of one-on-one, who would win?
A: I would win. Maybe back in the day he could get me, but I’m in my prime right now so Coach Rob’s got to work out before he plays me one-on-one.
Q: What do you like most about college so far?
A: Being away from home and not worrying about my mom telling me what to do, and also the whole college atmosphere. Coming to the games and it’s all these people there to see you, student section going crazy. In high school it was nothing like that.
Q: What’s the biggest difference between Corvallis and back home in Compton, Calif.?
A: Everybody here is so nice, you don’t catch that back home too often. Everybody wanting to see how you’re doing, wanting to help you. Back home you don’t see people walking up to you and just asking how your day is going.
Q: What do you miss most about home?
A: My family, and just not seeing them all the time. They are my number one supporters, and being so far away from home they only get to see games on TV, and I’m used to them being at the games yelling and screaming and cheering me on.
Q: What’s your favorite movie?
A: “The Sandlot,” “Lion King” and “Toy Story.” That’s my top three.
Q: If you had to take a girl on a date anywhere in Corvallis, where would you take her?
A: Probably to the movies because I don’t really know the good spots to go. I know as I go along I’ll find the good spots, but right now just the movies.
Q: If you were a sandwich, what kind of sandwich would you be?
A: I’d be peanut butter and jelly. It’s the best sandwich ever. Peanut butter and jelly is the protein sandwich, if you want to get strong, you need something healthy to eat. It’s not the healthiest sandwich, but it’ll get your stomach full, get the job done. And I get the job done.
Q: If you weren’t at Oregon State, what would you be doing?
A: If I didn’t go to college period, I’d probably be a barber. I’d go to school to cut hair and get my barber’s license because I have like 30-some barbers in my family.
Q: You cut guy’s hair on the team?
A: I cut Olaf [Schaftenaar’s] hair a couple times. I don’t really have my clippers so I can’t cut everybody but I cut Olaf’s hair — the first time I ever cut a white person’s hair. He looked good though, I did good.
