SEATTLE, Wash. — Oregon State gymnastics won its fourth meet of the season Friday night, defeating No. 21 University of Washington 195.975-194.675.
The No. 8 Beavers improved tremendously since their last road meet two weeks ago against the University of Arizona.
The last time OSU traveled to Seattle in 2009, the Huskies defeated them. This time around, Oregon State made sure that wouldn't be the case.
As usual, the Beavers' nationally third-ranked uneven bars team was their best event of the meet. With 9.900s from seniors Leslie Mak, Olivia Vivian and junior Makayla Stambaugh, the uneven bars team finished with a 49.100, the highest mark for OSU of the night.
Freshman Chelsea Tang, who was out last week with a sprained elbow, returned to participate in vault, scoring a 9.955. Tang had performed in all-around two weeks ago, but will have to slowly work her way back to doing all four events.
There were, however, four all-arounders for the Beavers Friday. Mak, Stambaugh, sophomore Brittany Harris and junior Kelsi Blalock each did all-around. It was Blalock's first time doing all-around this season, but the other three are regulars.
The Beavers will stay on the road next Friday, traveling to face the University of California-Davis.
